誤検出を避けるため、1文字の単位のうち s・L・N・A・T(1990s、316L、5N の純度、Fig. 5A、T6 調質と紛れる)は調べません。

°C(° + C)か K に直します。
4 wt% Cu and 0.5 wt.% Mg → 4 wt% Cu and 0.5 wt% Mgwt%・wt.%・wt %(at%・vol% も同じ)は雑誌によって書き方が違います。
~5 nm(約 5 nm)の ~ は別の意味です。
誤り between・from と – を一緒に使うbetween 10–20 °C → between 10 °C and 20 °Cbetween は and と、from は to と組みます。between 10–20 °C や from 10–20 °C は組み合わせの誤りです。 between 10 °C and 20 °C、from 10 °C to 20 °C
誤り is consisted ofis consisted of → consists ofconsist of(〜からなる)は能動態だけで使う動詞です。 consists of / consisted of か、is composed of に直します。
誤り discuss about などdiscuss about the results → discuss the resultsdiscuss・mention・explain・consider は他動詞で、目的語を直接とります。
誤り the reason is becauseThe reason is because … → The reason is that …reason と because の意味が重なります。論文では the reason is that … the reason is that … にします。
目安 according to the resultsAccording to the results, … → The results show that …according to The results show (indicate) that …
誤り as followingas following → as follows「次のとおり」は as follows で、主語が複数でも形は変わりません。
5 specimens were tested. → Five specimens were tested.
誤り e.g. / i.e. のつづりeg, Cr、e.g Cr、ie, Cr → e.g., Cr、i.e., Cre.g.(例えば)と i.e.(すなわち)はラテン語の略で、それぞれの文字のあとにピリオドを付けます。 e.g. / i.e.
書き方の決まり e.g. / i.e. のあとのコンマ(e.g. Cr and Mo) → (e.g., Cr and Mo)アメリカ英語の多くのスタイル(Chicago Manual of Style など)は e.g., i.e., とあとにコンマを付けます。
誤り 番号の付いた図・表・式の theas shown in the Fig. 3 → as shown in Fig. 3Fig. 3、Table 1、Eq.
目安 the の抜けやすい所showed same tendency、showed highest hardness → showed the same tendency、showed the highest hardnesssame は the same の形で使い、名詞の前の最上級(the highest hardness)、the following + 名詞、the rest of、on the other hand、in the present study にも the が要ります。補語の最上級(was highest at)や副詞の最上級(performed best、best describes、can best be)は調べません。 前に the(または this、its など)が要るか確かめます。
誤り 略語の前の a / ana SEM image、an TEM image → an SEM image、a TEM imagea と an は、つづりではなく読みの音で決めます。SEM(エス)、XRD(エックス)、EBSD(イー)、MD(エム)は母音で始まるので an、TEM(ティー)、DSC(ディー)、UV(ユー)は子音なので a です。 a / an を直します。
誤り 同じ語の重なりthe the specimens → the specimensthe the、of of のような重なりは、書き直したときの消し忘れです(that that や had had、in in situ は正しいことがあるので調べません)。
目安 短縮形doesn't → does not論文では don't、it's などの短縮形を使わず、do not、it is と書きます(メールや発表ではかまいません)。it's(it is)と its(その)の取り違えにも気をつけます。

Aluminum has an fcc structure. / Cementite is hard and brittle.

The specimens were aged at 190 °C. / The hardness increased with aging time.

Fig. 3 shows … / Table 2 lists …

These results suggest that Nb suppresses grain growth.

「It is found that …」「It was confirmed that …」 We found that … や The hardness was found to increase …

と Figure、e.g.

It is well known that … / It is generally said that …:

As shown in Fig. 3, it can be seen that …: 「示すように」と「見られる」が重なっています。

very、quite、extremely、significantly(検定をしていないとき): 数で示せるときは数を書きます(the hardness increased by 40 HV)。

novel、remarkable、for the first time:
